Few weeks back, we had a requirement for testing an Android Application in our company and luckily I was given that task. During my College days, I have been doing some Android Programming and hence I had some idea about the APK's. With the help of the below Infosec's tutorial I had done some testing and few seniors from our team took care of the remaining things.
That is a beautiful collection of resource for any beginner in Android testing.
After this I became more interested in Android stuffs and decided to explore more about it. My personal belief is that "Unless a person knows how to create things, he possibly can't know how to break things!!". So, I decided to learn more about Android Programming and decided to take up the Udacity's nano-degree course which link can be found below.

That is an awesome collection of resource by people from Google themselves and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in Android Application Development. I have completed the first two courses and right now I am in the middle of Multiple App Screens course.
The first course which is Android Basics: User Interface is all about building good looking single screen or activity. Here, we learn about various kinds of layouts like LinearLayout, RelativeLayout and also about the commonly used Views in Android like ImageView, TextView, Buttons which are the building blocks of an application.
In the second course Android Basics: User Input, we finally add life to our application by making it user interactive. We set up some Listeners to our Buttons and make it do something when clicked. The last module in this course was about Intents. Intents are very very powerful concepts in Android. We end the course by creating an application which will use Explicit Intents to start a mail application from within our application and pass in some data to it.
With the knowledge gained so far, I am planning to create an application which I have decided to call Modern Speed dial. It is a replica of the normal speed dial things, except that the plain old numbers will be replaced by your favorite person's photo. It gives two advantage over the normal speed dial:
i) We need not remember which person was mapped to which number
ii) Unlike the normal speed dial it will not be restricted to adding only nine people. We can add as much favorite people as we have!!
That it for this post guys. Catch you all in the next one sooooon!!!
